Building on Phase 1 success: Expanding in-depth training, academic practice, and international connectivity.
Building on the success of Phase 1, EDEN co-organized and implemented Phase 2 under the partnership framework between the Mekong Institute at Can Tho University and international partners. Serving as the second stage of the four-phase Global Immersion Guarantee (GIG) Program in Vietnam, this phase took place from December 12 to December 15, 2025, welcoming nearly 130 students and staff members from Monash University. Throughout this phase, EDEN continued to play a pivotal role in coordinating operations, facilitating academic activities, and supporting field immersion across the Mekong Delta.
Phase 2 aimed to reinforce foundational knowledge and broaden practical experience for students through key themes: climate change, sustainable livelihoods, and community resilience in the Mekong Delta. By integrating specialized academic discussions, community engagement, and field surveys, the program helped students better understand the interconnections between environment, society, and livelihoods, while fostering dynamic knowledge exchange among stakeholders.
The program was successfully executed through interactive discussions, community experiences, and field surveys. Students gained deeper insights into adaptation models and livelihood strategies in the Mekong Delta. EDEN’s active contribution ensured high organizational standards and enhanced program connectivity.
